As someone who has been calling on Roger Goodell for sometime to take control of an issue that has gone so far down as to cause people to send back season tickets, and in my case bar their children from watching the NFL, I was nodding my head to everything she said. I often wonder what Roger Goodell and Dan Snyder say to each other about changing the mascot. Recently, another duo that shouldn't be allied hit the news. Christina Fallin and Pink Pony are all buddy with Wayne Coyne and Flaming Lips in a way that will make anyone's skin crawl. You can read about the latest here:

Instead of "Pulling a Silver" as Norton suggests could Goodell be pulling a Coyne? It feels that way. It's a question that bears asking. Goodell should've brought Danny-boy to heal a long time ago. I'm sure some of the other NFL owners are feeling like Goodell must see something in Snyder that eclipses all logic and morality. I don't.
I look at Donald Sterling and although I believe he got everybit of what he deserved. Sterling is a child when it comes to being a racist. Dan Snyder has him beat by so many miles that Snyder has made a metaphorical landing on the moon, did a faux-war dance, and came back to be patted on the back. I say this with all sincerity, the hypocritical nature of the general public I have to put up with is boundless.
Just today I read some sorority girl piece claiming that Redface and Whiteface are the same, and didn't exist. I guess I shouldn't be shocked because as Jaqueline Keeler so eloquently wrote we are seen as "just a figment of someone else's imagination".
I am shocked. I never stop being shocked. I can't afford to let the racism encroach into my soul as it has in nearly every other American. I have to hold onto something untainted by the prolific and ubiquitous presence of Native Mascotry. When we look at brands like Nike, shouldn't we all expect that?

Nike "Swoosh" next to Native racism is comparable to Goodell next to Snyder, and Coyne next to Fallin. They lend their name, their brand, in support of racism so it can continue and prosper. They must be held accountable by Adam Silver's excellence in sports and humanity. We all know Goodell lacks guts. By the end of this week, we will know what choice Nike is going to make. Is Nike going to lack guts? Is Nike going to pull a Silver?
